So bold and colorful!
As you can see I omitted the optional large pocket on the front.
I kinda like 'em!!
or for piano books,
perhaps a little swim bag....

My friends in Washington are married to onion farmers, and to credit their husbands' hard work, these onion sack backpacks were created! Aren't they fun for kids? So bold and colorful! I used the free Dedre backpack pattern to sew up these lined backpacks. As you can see I omitted the optional large pocket on the front. I kinda like 'em!! Great as a soccer bag, or for piano books, perhaps a little swim bag.... What would YOUR kids use these backpacks for? Partying with these bloggy friends.... & the Dedicated House, the Charm of Home, Coastal Charm, Savvy Southern Style, Today’s Creative Blog, Home Stories A 2 Z, The Shabby Nest, The Shabby Creek Cottage, Thrifty Decor Chick, Between Naps on the Porch

I love these bags. I don't think I know where to buy the bags though. You are lucky to be able to get them from a friend.

I love those! I always feel bad throwing out onion sacks and rice sacks, even potato sacks, but I can't sew and couldn't imagine what to make with them. I'm going to save them from now on though, and give them to my friend who CAN sew.

This is a clever reuse. Pinned this one. Thanks for linking to What'd You Do This Weekend.
