'T is the season for coming up with fun and unique White Elephant Gift Ideas My favorite place to scout for White Elephant Gift Ideas is the thrift store. This year I was very pleased to find some actual elephants! On the shelf among the woven baskets and dusty eucalyptus, I found some decorative brass elephants.
Well, really they were made out of plastic.... Chocolate peppermint sandwich-style cookies are a scrumptious treat, perfect for St Patrick's Day These cookies are soooooo good! I like to make them for the family around St. Patrick's day every year, and let me tell you what: It take a LOT of self-control to make them ONLY once a year! They are so yummy! The dough is so smooth and soft and fluffy, and rich-but-not-too-rich..... Oh my.... You will have to try them out and see for yourself. Fun gifts for neighbors and friends at Christmastime: A bottle of rootbeer with with a can of beans.... Easy to assemble: a fun and inexpensive neighbor gift for that busy time of year. What I like about this neighbor-gift, is that you can get it ready weeks in advance, and that saves a lot of time during the busy Christmas season! Plus, it is kinda funny, right? Using eggshells as little vases, make a simple and cute little centerpiece for Easter. We love our chickens, and we love the eggs they lay. Their eggs taste great and I believe they are healthy too. And I think they looks adorable.... :) So for Easter-time this year, I decided to make our chicken's eggs the focal point in our table centerpiece, turning their eggs into tiny little vases to hold tiny flowers. These little eggshell vases are easy to make: Just gently tap the top of your egg. Carefully peel some of the eggshell away, till the hole is the size you like. Poor out the contents. (Your family will love the goodies you will make with those eggs...!!!) Carefully wash out the eggshells. Arrange them in an egg-carton or other container that will keep them upright. Fill your empty eggshells with water. Cut your flowers to a short length and place them in your little eggshell vases. Enjoy your pretty little Easter centerpiece! Happy Easter! FYI: eggshells from roaming chickens are a bit tougher than those you buy from the store, so they make perfect little vases. However, I am sure store-bought eggs would work just fine.... This video above is such a beautiful quick rendition of the last week of Jesus' life: Palm Sunday through Resurrection Morning. Well-worth your seven minutes of time! I promise.... :)

I was so ecstatic when I found a deck of vintage math flashcards with GREEN print! I had never seen them before, and I thought, "Those are perfect for St.Patrick's Day!" In combination with a tree branch and an old galvanized bucket, it became the focal point in my kitchen: a fun vintage flashcard tree branch! Isn't the green print adorable? Even my kids commented that they like the flashcard tree....! Wow! Around here, that is the ultimate compliment! I'm so lucky! Happy St. Patty's! Some people argue that "St. Patty's" is spelled "St. Paddy's," basing their argument on the Irish Pádraig, which become's the nickname Paddy. Others claim that "Paddy" is a derogatory ethnic slur in Ireland.... I was under the impression that St. Patrick's Day was named after the catholic Saint Patrick; one of the nicknames for Patrick is "Patty," right? Or is that a nickname for Patricia? I guess it is.... :( I don't know anymore.... Shall we just go with St. Paddies? or St. Patties? I'm confused.... Now this flashcard gets the St.Patrick's Day point across: "Green" Plain and simple Ta-DA! Here is my mantle / fantle for this green holiday. I love the vintage green map we have of the Idaho Primitive area.... So amazing! Sorry kids: I am wearing green, so don't pinch me! By the way: did you notice that awesome ROUND rusty horseshoe up there...? Isn't it fabulous? I found it in the field behind my neighbor's house. (Yes, I asked him for permission to take it!) I am so happy with it! All in all I feel pretty lucky to have been blessed with a great family: great kids. & all my other MANY blessings! . Hope you have a fabulous St. Patrick's Day! hugs x Crystelle Partying with these bloggy friends.... & the Charm of Home, Coastal Charm, Savvy Southern Style, Today’s Creative Blog, Home Stories A 2 Z, The Shabby Nest, The Shabby Creek Cottage, Thrifty Decor Chick, Between Naps on the Porch |
