I had never seen them before, and I thought,
"Those are perfect for St.Patrick's Day!"
In combination with a tree branch and an old galvanized bucket, it became the focal point in my kitchen: a fun vintage flashcard tree branch!
Even my kids commented that they like the flashcard tree....!
Wow!
Around here, that is the ultimate compliment!
I'm so lucky!
Some people argue that "St. Patty's" is spelled "St. Paddy's,"
basing their argument on the Irish Pádraig, which become's the nickname Paddy.
Others claim that "Paddy" is a derogatory ethnic slur in Ireland....
I was under the impression that St. Patrick's Day was named after the catholic Saint Patrick; one of the nicknames for Patrick is "Patty," right?
Or is that a nickname for Patricia?
I guess it is.... :(
I don't know anymore....
Shall we just go with St. Paddies?
or St. Patties?
I'm confused....
"Green"
Plain and simple
Here is my mantle / fantle for this green holiday.
I love the vintage green map we have of the Idaho Primitive area....
So amazing!
By the way: did you notice that awesome ROUND rusty horseshoe up there...?
Isn't it fabulous?
I found it in the field behind my neighbor's house.
(Yes, I asked him for permission to take it!)
I am so happy with it!
& all my other MANY blessings!
.
Hope you have a fabulous St. Patrick's Day!
hugs x
