Are you tall and have problems finding tops that fit right?
Are tops too short or too long?

Hello to all of the followers of Crystelle Boutique! I'm happy to be guest posting on Crystelle's blog today. I’m Julie and I blog at Home Is Where The Heart Is. Each day of the week I blog about a different category. On Fridays, I blog about anything about fashion and beauty. Are you tall and have problems finding tops that fit right? Are tops too short or too long? I am 5'10" and I sometimes have problems finding tops that fit just right. I have a long torso, so I have to find tops that are the perfect length. I can't have the top be too short or too long. If the top is too short, I have to constantly pull it down. If the top is too long, it doesn't look right on me. My torso is long enough and looks too long with long tops.

~A polka-dot dress on a pretty fall day in Idaho, riding an "Amsterdam" bike~ That's right: we like to combine Dutch and American things around here. After all, I have a bit of a dual personality: half my heart resides in the Netherlands, and the other half lives here in Idaho. I have loved-ones in both places. Speaking of love: I am loving my new dress: black and white polka-dots! Let's face it. As much as we want to, it is just not practical for mothers to run around in trendy clothing wearing high heels while attending to our mom-duties. The Mom Uniform is one that is functional: sensible clothing that is comfortable and will take you anywhere your kids need to go.....
Our Tall Tales guest post this week comes from the lovely and gracious (and tall) Bonnie from Creative Decorating on a Budget. Not only does Bonnie know how to decorate her home with flair without going overboard financially, she also knows how to dress professionally at work in a frugal yet fashionable way.
Included are a week's worth of her favorite outfits and numerous tips on how to dress your best at work for tall ladies. Bonnie is a working mom. She and her husband have two teenage sons. We are glad Bonnie took time out of her busy family and work schedule to share with us how she pulls off looking good in a business casual environment. Clearance shopping is so much fun - being able to score something fun with a very attractive price-tag. Especially when it comes to shoes, it is so exciting to find high-quality shoes at a fraction of the cost. I really don't go shoe shopping very often, but this time, my daughter Gretchen and I headed to the mall and came home with (count them) 10 pairs of shoes to share between the two of us! SCORE! Some cute, some practical, some awesome name-brands. All of them super comfy.... They should last us a while. I don't care that I am wearing last years' styles. Do you? Sweat Pants That are Long and Cozy on Tall Girls
So I have a confession to make… I never wear pajama PANTS. Well, very rarely anyway. The reason is that they look like floods on me. (I wear capri-type things). I was always jealous of the girls with the pants dragging on the floor looking as cozy as could be. Today's Tall Tales features a guest post from Olivia Montes, the author behind Me and Baby E. Olivia is a very talented Stay at Home Mom with a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. Needless to say, lucky and super adorable Baby E has the best caregiver ever: her own caring, devoted and very tall mom. As a beauty consultant and stylist on the side Olivia knows how to look her best at 5'10". I love the Fall. Warm days, cool nights, Pumpkin everything, and slipping back into my favorite jeans for daily wear. Read more.... It is so fun that lace is in style right now. We love how classy and feminine it is. Let's see how we make a lace skirt work for tall legs and how we learn to take time to enjoy life (smell the flowers) from a neighbor's horse. Read more.... If you look closely at a tree you'll notice its knots and dead branches, just like our bodies. What we learn is that beauty and imperfection go together wonderfully. Matthew Fox Okay, so I can't keep it a secret any longer: truth be told: I am not perfect, and neither is my body: I do not have the perfect figure. My body shape is what they refer to as "pear-shaped" A pear: Small-ish at the top, big-ish at the bottom. There, I said it: the truth is out.... And I'm not as skinny as I used to be either. They call that "Aging" and "Looking good for your age" Whatever.... I just laugh at it all! haha! So I'm not perfect, so what? I think I'm pretty cool actually. It is amazing what my body can do! I love how my body is healthy and strong. At 5'11" people used to tell me: "Oh, you are so tall, you should be a model." (They don't really tell me that anymore ~ I guess it's that aging thing again: Interesting....) Now I have some grey hairs and some wrinkles. And that pear-body we talked about before. Oh well. Who cares anyway. I did not become a model when I was younger because modeling takes more than height! Haha! Nicole Kidman and I are both 5'11'' - and we are about the same age as well.
Seriously, though: As a model you are expected to be extremely photogenic (I'm not: trust me there!) And have the perfect figure (I don't have that either, remember the pear-shape?) But I have discovered a few things I can do to flatter my imperfect body-shape a bit: For instance: an A-line skirt really works well for my triangle-shaped body: Skinny at the waist, flaring out toward the bottom. I feel attractive in it, and pretty and feminine, and all that good stuff! And currently floral pints are "in" so even better. I love flowers. So all in all, I try to love my perfect imperfections (Think 'All of Me' by John Legend) And move on. There are more important things to worry about. Right? I think so... xox, Crystelle ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Tall Tales is a fashion series about clothing for tall girls of all ages For more Tall Tales posts, please click here We welcome guest-posts from fellow tall girls: If you are a woman of 5'10 or taller, and would like to contribute to our Tall Tales Series, please contact us here.
