As my body is getting older, my mind still feels like I am in my 20's. Haha!
Nope, that body laughs at me and says "Nope, you are not!" all the time...
But why not?
I want to feel the energy and drive I did back then.
I want to have the vitality from those yesterdays today.
I just takes a little more effort and patience on my part these days.
That's OK.
I know I can do it.
And so I will.....
Do you ever catch yourself in the kitchen? A lot?
Yes! I do. All the time. I am a mom after all. There is a lot to do in that room. Right?
But hey, why am I rummaging through the cabinets? Without a purpose....
Why am I opening the fridge just because? Am I hungry?
It takes me quite a bit of self-discipline to evaluate my reason for eating.
Therefore, this reminder is addressed to me:
You are not HUNGRY,
You are BORED!
Drink some WATER!!
She looks fabulous at church; she looks great at a picnic; she looks stunning at camp, and she even looks adorable after a workout! What is that all about??? We ran a 5k together this last Saturday, and took a selfie of the two of us afterward. And guess what the picture revealed? Upon close inspection (actually I noticed it within a quick glance) it became quite apparent that she looked super cute (after running those brutal 5 kilometers in not such lovely weather), and I was a scary sight!
Yep. It's the truth.
But even though I will never match up to her adorableness, I am still proud of myself for running that 5k. I feel like a champ. My time was OK, not great, but hey: I am in pretty good shape. I definitely have a lot of room for improvement, but I am working on it.
And no: I do not look CUTE after a workout.
But I feel terrific!
So therefore, I need to remind myself of the following:
If you are still CUTE at the end of a workout, you are not training HARD enough!
